SolidWizard and Road Ahead Technology are scoring a profit now that the two companies are sharing the market for 3D printing in Taiwan, according to our sister newspaper China Times.

"With the technology we have so far, it can be used for tooth implants, artificial knuckles and a variety of medical uses. 3D printouts will help doctors improve the quality of their surgery," said Peng Sheng-chieh, vice president for SolidWizard.

Peng said that US-based 3D System is now the leading brand name in the 3D printing market. The company is co-represented by SolidWizard and Road Ahead Technology in Taiwan. SolidWizard, listed last September and has since tripled its share price in 2013 alone.

"We are expecting double the amount of orders this year," said SolidWizard president Hsu Tai-yuan.

Road Ahead also confirmed that the new technology has become more and more popular in Taiwan.

"We receive loads of inquiries every day," said Road Ahead manager Chen Kuo-hung. "We used to promote our product from door to door. Today, customers approach us and ask for briefings."
